WHAT IS STACKTOIT
Not an AI chatbot. A purpose-built migration engine.
StackToIT is a deterministic cloud migration engine for STACKIT. It reads your infrastructure as code, applies versioned engineering rules to every resource and delivers the target architecture, Terraform artifacts and migration plan your architects work from.
How the engine works
Four engineered stages turn an existing estate into a migration package. Each stage is explicit, and each result keeps its link to the source.
Read
Terraform and OpenTofu root modules with their modules and variables, or VMware RVTools exports, read on your own machine. No cloud credentials, no agent.
Model
Resources and their dependencies become migration units: the building blocks a migration actually moves, in the order they depend on each other.
Decide
A versioned rule base gives each unit a migration class, a STACKIT target, a confidence and the reason. A question the code cannot answer becomes a named decision.
Deliver
STACKIT Terraform, architecture diagrams, an ordered execution plan, data movement steps and a decision register, written as files you review, version and keep.
Why deterministic matters
Migration decisions carry budgets, timelines and production risk. They need engineering logic you can inspect, not text that sounds plausible.
Same input, same answer
The same estate and the same rule version give the same classification, target and reason. Results compare run by run, and every change has a cause.
Every result has evidence
Each result states its reason and traces back to its source, down to the Terraform file and line. Reviewers check the logic, not the wording.
Facts, never guesses
When a value cannot be read from your infrastructure, StackToIT asks for it. It becomes a clear input for your team instead of a silent default.
Your environment, your control
StackToIT runs locally, needs no cloud credentials and changes nothing in any cloud. Your pipeline applies what your architects approve.
What it means for your business
Plan with real scope
See early which services move with configuration changes and which need a new runtime or data model. Effort and timeline follow from the estate itself.
Start with deliverables
The first output is a migration package, not a blank page: target architecture, Terraform and plan for the whole estate.
Decide as one team
Architecture, platform, security and leadership work from the same evidence, each in a form they can act on.

Questions architects ask
What is StackToIT?
StackToIT is a deterministic cloud migration engine for STACKIT. It analyzes infrastructure as code resource by resource, maps each service to a STACKIT target with engineering rules and delivers Terraform artifacts, architecture diagrams and a structured migration plan.
Does StackToIT use generative AI?
No. Every classification, target and reason comes from versioned engineering rules applied to your infrastructure code. The same input gives the same result.
Which clouds does StackToIT migrate to STACKIT?
AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and Oracle Cloud estates written in Terraform or OpenTofu, and VMware estates exported with RVTools.
What does StackToIT deliver?
A migration assessment, the target architecture, STACKIT Terraform, an ordered execution plan with data movement and verification steps, and a decision register for your architects.
Does StackToIT change anything in my cloud?
No. StackToIT reads files on your own machine, needs no cloud credentials and stops before deployment. Your own pipeline applies what your architects approve.
